Alan Sstokes : Hi am looking for Alan Stokes who served with myself on HMS Ark Royal from 1970 - 1973 and who married a girl called Theresa. Royal Naval Electrical Branch Association: Does anyone remember the Instructor on the Electrical Courses at Chatham who hated the word “bulb"? “It's lamp boy, do you hear LAMP. Bulbs only grow in yer bleedin' garden." That gem was sent in by a member and appears in the latest newsletter of the Royal Naval Electrical Branch Association, with the comment from the newsletter Editor - “As a Pembroke trained EM, I too cannot bring myself to call it a ‘light bulb’. Are you Collingwood vets similarly traumatised? ED”. Do you have any gems from your days in the Electrical Branch? If you had the distinctive lightning flashes on your branch badge, come and find your old mess mates by visiting http://www.rneba.org.uk and download the application form or by emailing Mike Crowe. 2/9/2010
