The Globe & Laurel, the journal
of the Royal Marines, has been in continuous publication since 1892.
It has a bi-monthly circulation of around 13,500 - over double the
present strength of the serving Corps, and has a world-wide readership.
Serving and former Royal Marines at home and abroad and branches
of the Royal Marines Association and other ex-Service Associations,
RM
Cadet detachments of the Sea Cadets and RM Volunteer Cadets units
use its columns to keep in touch with the activities of the Royal
Marines and of wider Corps family and old comrades, while foreign
Marine Corps, embassies and press correspondents scan its pages,
regularly
picking up items they may have missed through the usual lines of
communication.
Published every two months it is packed with reports from the major
units of the Corps, accounts of current RM operations, Corps activities,
charitable activities, developments in equipment, sport, historical
features, book and music reviews, reflecting the wide range of its
readership appeal.
