Two teams with something to prove met in the final of the United Services Cricket League competition at the US Ground, Burnaby Road in Portsmouth.

MOTOR sport enthusiasts put a lot of effort into watching races – one group with a Royal Navy element cycled hundreds of miles to see a RN race team in action.

A Royal Navy officer has helped her Australian compatriots beat the Australian Army women for the first time in the history of the Australian Defence Force inter-service rugby festival.

The airmen from HMS Seahawk have bounced back from cup-final defeat by the RM band Service in 2002 to beat HMS Sultan in the final of the Navy Cricket Knock-out Cup.

Once again the Army dominated the results at the Inter-Services sports climbing championships, though the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force managed to get more people into the final rounds than has been the case in the past – and the Senior Service took one title through C/Sgt John Snowden.
