Top boxing event staged at HMS Nelson   05.03.04 11:28

A major boxing competition will see some of the best up-and-coming fighters in the country in the ring at HMS Nelson in Portsmouth.

Nelson Gymnasium is the venue for the Amateur Boxing Association national semi-finals, with 22 bouts helping to sort out the best amateurs in England – and hopes are high that the Senior Service will have representatives on the card.

The event, on Saturday, March 20, begins at 3pm with the light flyweight semis up to the light welterweights.

The evening session, starting at 7pm, features the welterweight semis up to the super heavyweights.

Admission to the event costs £15 in advance, or £20 on the door, and the ticket hotline number is 0870 446633.
