Commanding Officer of HMS Somerset returns to UK   15.12.04 11:11

The Royal Navy has confirmed that the Commanding Officer of HMS Somerset has handed over temporary command of the Type 23 frigate to his Executive Officer prior to going on leave.

Cdr David Axon has returned to the UK in order to be given time to respond to allegations from two members of the ship’s company.

The Royal Navy reiterated that it “takes personnel issues extremely seriously and is moving rapidly to bring this matter to a conclusion.”
