HMS Jaguar: During
WWII, HMS Jaguar was adopted by the village of Down Hatherley,
Gloucestershire during the governments ‘Warship Week’ in
November 1941. A scroll was prsented to the parish to commemorate
the event. Jaguar, a J-class destroyer (F34) was buiit by William
Denny and launched in 1938. Took part in the evacuation of Dunkirk
and was damaged by German bombers. Took part in shelling Cherbourg
in 1940, was involved in the Battle of Cape Matapan and fought
off the coast of Greece. In 1942 Jaguar was escorting a tanker
taking supplies to Tobruk when she was torpedoed and sunk. Only
53 of the 246 crew survived. If anyone remembers Jaguar and her
crew, the “warship Week’ ceremony or what happened

HMS Jamaica: The
granddaughter of the late Sidney Robinson is looking for anybody
who served on the ship between 1942 & 1945 in ww2 or has
any information or pictures regarding her grandfather who lived
in
Huddersfield before and after the war. She believes he trained
at a base called HMS Drake in Barrow-in-Furness before joining
the ship as a gunner. She has never been able to obtain any information
as she knows so little and does not have a pay roll number which
could help her find out more!! So any help and information would

HMS Jaguar: Desperately trying to trace any
of the 56 survivors of HMS Jaguar sunk 26th March 1942. Janet IsaacÕs
uncle Percival Newton went down with his ship on that date, aged
only 19. She has a photograph of him taken just before sailing to
disaster. His mates cap badge said HMS Jaguar, her uncles cap said
HMS Destroyer? Janet does not know his mates name. Contact Janet

Judo: Bill (Jock) Closs (served from 1980/91) was the Open
(Heavyweight) player of the Royal Navy Judo Team for the 1989 InterService
Judo Championships where we took the Gold medal for the first time
since that contests inception. He is hoping that someone will have
some photographs of the Navy Judo Team and perhaps some action photos
of the events. He would also like to know the team has faired in

HMS Jellicoe: Stan Brookes has a copy of
a YMCA Bible that belonged to his late grandfather, JW Little, who
served in HMS Jellicoe.
On the inside cover of the Bible is a message written by Admiral
Jellicoe and reads: 'Be strong and of good courage: be not afraid
neither be ? dismayed: father Lord thy God is with thee ?? great
Honour all men. ??? fear God. Honour thy King' from the heart JW
Jellicoe. Can anyone fill in the missing words? Contact Stan

Francis (Frank) Frederick Johnson: His grandson is trying
to get information about him and the ships in which he served. He
enlisted at HMS Duke (Great Malvern) in 1942 as a stoker, served
at Pembroke 2, Drake 2 and in Landing Craft Tank 321 in 1943 and
HMS Campania when he crossed the Arctic Circle in 1946. Frank has
