Sods Opera: After a very long time I have been asked to do a dit in a Sods Opera. I once watched a sketch on a SSBN about a wartime bomber with stokers as the 4 engines, a rear gunner, pilot, co-pilot etc. Engine fires caused the stokers to get soaked one at a time and the chat between the pilot etc was hilarious. Can anybody help with the script. Ian Kane

RN/RNVS: Trying to obtain the service history of Lt Geoffrey Oliver Sparks who served in the RN/RNVS up to and including WWII. Can you identify the ship in this picture? HMS Raleigh: Ian joined the Royal Navy in January 1977 (leaving in December 1981) and Is writing abou his experiences of those years with a view to hopefully publishing in the near future. Unfortunately, the memories he has of my time at HMS Raleigh are proving more difficult to remember than the rest of his time in the navy. He is hoping that readers will to help jog his memory by sending their own experiences of their time at Raleigh! Roderick Wiggins: Trying to trace the cousin of David Wiggins and Jackie Berrington (nee Wiggins). Roderick was born in Barry, South Glamorgan and five years ago was living with his wife Caroline in Cwmbran, Gwent. He would be about 58 years old and retired from the navy. HMS Recruit 1945/6: Stoker John Morley was given the task to activate the bugle during the Japanese Surrender and being taken back to Singapore. John had been a bugler in the Sea Cadet Band in Wembley. He asks whether the bugle still exists and whether he would be able to purchase it. If anyone can help him contact John

HMS Ribble K525: Seeking the ships bell with a view to borrowing it for an exhibition in the town of Settle on the Yorkshire Dales. Ribble was adopted by the town during Warship Week in WWII. If you have any information please contact William Fell

HMS Rockingham: Seeking anyone out there who knew Henry (Harry) Cooper, a small man with a Geordie accent, during WWII. He was a seaman gunner, trained at Whale Island, and served on ships, HMS Rockingham, HMAMC Canton, and HMS Nelson. 837 Squadron: Seeking information about Lt. (A) Donald W. Jarvis, 837 RN Air Squadron who was killed in a flying accident probably from HMS Glory in 1947. Also where he is buried. His brother, Derek, would like to learn more. Contact Peter Relf

Royal Marine Michael Sunnucks  joined 263 Kings Squad in 1937 and would like to hear from anyone he joined up with. He later served in Resolution and had some connection to Mountbatten. Michael

Royal Marines: Seeking anyone who served with James Holmes from St Helens who was a RM from 1940 to 1946. His son Colin would like to learn more of his late fathers time in the service. Contact Colin

HMS Renown: Walter Sharpe, who served as a Royal Marine in HMS Renown, 1943/45, would like to find out more about an incident that took place. The ship was directed from Tincomalee to Durban during 1944 for a refit. During this time in refit, there was an unfortunate accident in which a crew member died. HMS Richmond: The City of Richmond, Virginia, are about to establish a place in the Library for the Bridge Badge from HMS Richmond (G88) which was formerly USS Fairfax (DD93), one of 50 DDs given to the UK in September 1940. This badge was given to Richmond in 1950, by the Admiralty. They are trying to locate any photographs or artifacts of the time for display under the badge. In particular, we seek a photograph fo her first CO, LCDR Alfred Francis Llewellyn Evans, RN. Contact Alexander G. Monroe, CAPT, USNR (Ret.)

Royal Naval Division 1914/18: Retired LT Cdr Wainwrights grandfather in 1918 at the moment before his death was the senior officer alive in Hawke Battalion. The action was in Loupart Wood, south east of Grevillers. His grandfather lost his life “in attempting to rush an enemy machine gun post”. Next year the town of Grevillers, near Bapaume, France will be erecting a stone to his memory. If any of your relations were in the RND and you feel you may have any information of interest that describe the RND’s time in Greece and France during WWI, please contact Mr Wainwright

HMS Rodney: Seeking anyone who may have served with Eric James Rockell ÒROCKYÓ. He was an able seaman on HMS Rodney between 1939 and 1944. Can anyone help his granddaughter? She is very anxious to preserve his brave efforts during his life and this has become very important to her! Contact Emma Rockell

After initial training at King Alfred in Hove, he was sent in 1941 to Fort William and Ardrishaig. He later went to Weymouth to have torpedo tubes added and work up the boat. His wife is writing a family history and wonders if anyone can tell her why, after HMS St Christopher, George would have spent some time at Ardrishaig, where he was billeted in a pub. Royal Arthur 1979: Bob McCullen was doing the PO's leadership 1560 course, known to members as the 'The Green Machine'. The course song was based on the tune of Men of Harlech. Does any reader have a copy of the words? Contact Bob

Gordon Richardson: Seeking information on the late Gordon Richardson who served in the RN during the Korean conflict. He died aboard ship in 1951-2, thought to be at a port in UK, His brother having been killed in Korea in 1951. The brothers were brought up in South Shields, Durham. HMS Revenge (battlewagon): A copy of the Ships Magazine (Vol1, No.2) dated June 1942 and a photo of a painting by R Eurich (Adm Artist) of the ship leaving Pompey Harbour after the air raids is offered to any ex-Revenge warrior of that time. Contact Derek R Thorne

HMS Romney J77, a Bangor class Minesweeper: Seeking information from anyone who served onboard with AB Thomas Gibson between 1940/44. Believed to have been a gunner come cook. His CO was Lt Cdr 'Dickie' Bird or Baird. He saw action in Operations Ironclad - Madagascar 1942, Husky - Sicily 1943, Neptune - Normandy landing 1944. Possibly involved with Russian and Malta convoys. If anyone has information or stories could they contact his grandson, Craig Gibson

Submarine HMS Renown: Seeking contact with Lt Dennis Smith who served in the late 60s, early 70s at Faslane. Thought to have left the Navy in 1975. If anyone can provide information on his whereabouts could they contact SM Jones
