I have in my possession here in South Africa a souvenir booklet containing comprehensive photographic coverage of the `brand new`, newly commissioned HMS `Vanguard. The booklet was available for sale in the ship`s bookstall in 1946. What makes this item rather special however is that the back cover is signed in the original by many of the original ship`s officers including the Commanding Officer, Capt. W.G. Agnew, C.B., C.V.O., D.S.O.,* who signed himself R.Adm. and the Executive Officer, Commander W.J. Lamb, M.V.O., O.B.E. I consider this signed booklet to be an important piece of memorabilia which deserves a stowage more appropriate than the bookshelf in my study here. I would be grateful for suggestions for a suitable home for the item. Contact P.J.C. Brown Cdr (Rtd) South African Navy.
