Online Photographic Exhibition

Navy News' photographic library contains many images captured during the Falklands Conflict. Many of these images have not been published before and each tells its' own unique story.

Harrier Gallery

The Sea Harrier was hailed as one of the great successes of the South Atlantic conflict, justifying the faith shown during its development for use from RN ships.

South Georgia was invaded by Argentine forces on April 3rd 1982.
After 23 days of occupation the island was recaptured by Royal Marines on April 25th 1982.

During Operation Corporate, the Royal Marines won 46 decorations, including 2 DSOs, a DFC, a DSC, 6 MCs and 11 MMs, and 83 mentions in dispatches. Casualties totalled 27 killed and wounded; 45 Cdo lost 12 killed.
