HMS RICHMOND Back on Patrol
14.10.04

Back on patrol, HMS Richmond reverts to her primary role making up the UK's contribution to Counter Drug patrols in the Caribbean.

After the recent Disaster Relief work, the ship takes the opportunity to resume normal operations with a busy spell at sea.

Spending some time in the vicinity of Jamaica made for an excellent opportunity to train and work alongside members of the Jamaican Coastguard.

This gave them the opportunity to experience life with the Royal Navy and to see how we conduct our business and also gave us the chance to see them running through their paces.

A brief spell off Jamaica also presented an excellent opportunity for the ship to host the Right Honourable Adam Ingram MP, Minister of State for the Armed Forces.

Visiting the ship for the first time and spending the day at sea, the minister was able to meet many of the Ship's Company involved in the Disaster Relief work and thank them for their efforts.
