HMS Bulwark, Albion & Centaur Association: Did you ever serve in Bulwark, Albion or Centaur? The Association is open to anyone who served at any time on these ships. Magazine three times per year plus events including AGM/Social, sea-days and anniversary commemorations. AGM 2007 was on March 31 on board the restored HMS Trincomalee, prevously Foudroyant, at the historic Quay in Hartlepool. The Social was at the Hillcarter Hotel. Membership is just £8 per annum! Maurice Samuel Batterham: Nick is researching the life and work of his late grandfather Commander (Sp.) Maurice Samuel Batterham RANVR (‘Batts’), in order to make a documentary titled ‘Man Overboard’. Commander Batterham was loaned by the RAN to serve with the RN in 1944-45 and then again in 1951. He is interested in any information relating to him or his service, which included clearance diving operations, diving equipment research and development, and diver training. Of particular interest is his work at the Admiralty Experimental Diving Unit. Anyone who knew of Batterham, was involved with the Experimental Diving Unit or can advise on our research endeavours we would be extremely grateful to hear from. BRNC: Seeking information regarding Richard Anthony Harris, who entered Dartmouth as a cadet in 1957 and graduated in 1959. He then spent four years at HMS Manadon becoming an Engineer Officer with the rank of Lieutenant. He was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on January 13, 1939, but became British on joining the RN. There is a 50th Anniversary reunion at the BRNC next year and would like to see him there. James (Jimmy) Broome: Seeking info on which ships Liza's grandfather served on during WWII. He was on a minesweeper and died in the 60's. He came from Manchester, had a brother named Clifford and his partners name was Annie. Stoker CPO Alf Nicholson (Nick): I am researching my late fathers naval career from 1941 to 47. He served on HMS Bridgewater in 1941 and HMS Blencartha in 1947, he also mentioned his service on the Russian Convoys. Forgotten Brothers of Iceland: Roger Cundiffs father was for a time in command of AFD17 in Iceland 1944 and received a certificate from the Forgotten Brothers for spending more than one hundred days inside the Arctic Circle. He would like to hear from anyone else who is a member of the "FBI". He would also like to hear from anyone who served in AFD17 especially on the tow from Iceland to Australia. Contact Roger

HMS Bronnington: Alistair Parker is seeking pictures of himself and others with HRH Prince of Wales taken at the re-commisioning Ceremony of HMS Bronnington in 1980 at Chatham Dockyard. He wants to pass copies of them onto his grandson. Contact Alistair

Reg Bailey, was a PO Diver during WWII based at HMS Hannibal (Algiers) 1943-44, HMS Braganza (Bombay) 1944-46, HMS Highflyer 1944 & HMS Wayland 1944. His son has some photos of him and his "oppo's", but any information on him or the shore bases/ships that he served on gratefully received. Also anything after the war when he returned to HM Dockyard, Portsmouth. During this time he was well known for making bell ropes for HMS Hampshire, Devonshire, Andromeda and others including HM Royal Yacht Britannia. During the 1960's he was in charge of the team that re-rigged the mast at HMS Ganges, hard copies or e-mail images are available if they are of interest to anyone. Contact Tony Bailey

British Military Powerboat Trust at Marchwood Southampton. Please see our website: We need to allow old salts who may be able to expand on our site and its contents, with their personal anecdotes and particularly pictures, of boats from all eras of fast MTB/MGB/ASR/SPT etc., to be in touch with us. We have a small Fast Motor Dinghy from HMS Dainty, which we are going to restore, and need to hear from anyone who served on HMS Dainty, and may have pictures of her whilst in service. HMS Beagle: Would like to communicate with any veterans of the destroyer escort HMS Beagle, who were aboard the night it drove off two German E-boat attacks on an LST convoy and rescued several hundred Americans from the water after two LSTs were struck by torpedoes on Day 2, D-Day, 1944. Cmdr Wilfrid Briggs, Engineer Sheerness 1908/14, Admiralty 1914/18, Head of Naval Aviation Engines, seconded to RAF, retired 1920. In 1909 was motivator and Director of Sheerness Golf Club Ltd, and Secretary. The Navy built golf courses at its principle Naval Ports around the world. Sheerness GC has its centenary in 2009 and would like to contact the Briggs family in connection with the celebrations. Contact G G Holt

James Carrington Bond: Trying to contact him on behalf of the wife of Mike E. Roberts - she would love to put the two of them back in touch after 30 years, in time for Mike’s 60th birthday. James lived in the Hull area and met and married a girl from there. After leaving the Navy at the same time, he and Mike went into the building renovation business together in Hull but when the business closed they lost contact after going their separate ways doing diving contracts. William Thomas Jack Baker RM.  Ian Meadows has recently inherited his late grandfather’s WW2 photos, and is keen to put names to faces or warships. His grandfather was in HO 33 Squad in 1940 and was an Acting Temporary Corporal RM (Yeovil) in the RN Camp, Normandy, in 1945. The pictures can be seen on the Internet. Contact Ian

Bahrain: In a group photo of HMS Minerva's Wasp helicopter taken in Bahrain are Arthur Wyatt (Stores Chief), Ron Stephenson (Flight Chief) and Dirk Brooker (Chief Chippy). Since leaving the RN, Ron is retired and living in Northhampton, Arthur is retired and living in Devon but, the whereabouts of Dirk is unknown. If anyone knows Dirk and can let Arthur know where he is living, please contact Arthur Wyatt

Liz Larnach (Ross), is trying to trace Julie Brierly (Harper). They were both at RNAS Brawdy from 1964 -1967(?). Julie was a general steward and Liz was an officer's steward. Julie married Ken Brierly (not sure of date) who was also in the navy and got a transfer to Faslane, Glasgow after they married.
