HMS Forte: Bill would like to hear from any of the officers - or their families - in the attached photograph (names on reverse) which was taken at HMS Forte in Falmouth between December 1943 and July 1944 whilst his father, Lt(E) William Redvers Forster RNR was stationed there. Cpt Roch was the Engineering Base Supervisor at HMS Forte and Lt Cdr(E) Keats and his father were on his staff but the others are not listed as being at HMS Forte in the Navy List for the first quarter of 1944. During his time at Forte his father served on a Landing Ship, Tanks (LST) and was also given a pier head posting (not mentioned in his service record) to an unidentified escort ship on an Arctic convoy to Archangel before joining HMS Venomous in August at the start of its new commission after its refit at Falmouth by Silley Cox & Co. Falklands: Looking for the family of Cdr Michael Croxford who served in the Falklands War in charge of Catering on HMS .....? and was then resident in Wembley. Alexander Claud Forsyth: Served in the Royal Navy during the second world war. His daughter is seeking inormation regarding her fathers career or could supply information about photos of him which are on the website. After his navy days he became a pilot on the tugboats in Cape Town harbour bringing all the big shipping into berth. Unfortunately, It’s believed, his time in the navy caused him what we would today call ‘post war syndrome’ and his health deteriorated. HMS Fisgard: Seeking some old acquaintances, John Grantham (Granny) who joined HMS FIsgard in Sept 1957, series 31 and went on it’s believed to the fleet air arm and David Upward who was into boxing at Fisgard. Believed they were both originally from the Poole Dorset area. Did a lot of walking across Dartmoor during our time at Torpoint. HMS Forester: John F. McLaverty, served on the Forester from December 1941 until June 1942 and recalls it as his favourite vessel. HMS Falcon 1955/58: Seeking Henry (Harry) Hardman & Florence Dailey, Harry was a L/A (Phot) at that time, at Hal Far, & Flo was in the WRENS at Kalafrana. They were Best Man & Bridesmaid on 1/10/1955 at the wedding of Brian & Doreen Hibbert, at the Holy Trinity C of E Church in Sliema, Malta. Brian would also like to trace an old shipmate and very good friend that he used to work with at Kalafrana, C.A.F.(E) Peter May, last heard from him in 1958 and he was still enjoying the sunshine out there. HMS Fisgard: Russ Poore joined Fisgard in 1977 as an CEA, ending up in Submarines as a DCB maintainer on Warspite and Churchill. Left pusser as CPOWEA in 1990 and emigrated to Oz in 1996. HMS Fisgard, 4/5/53: Looking for Eric Kirk, the best man of Ron Christian. Ron and Eric joined HMS Fisgard in the same series on 4th May 1953. Eric had a brother called Tony, also a 'tiffy' in the RN and the came from Ormskirk, Liverpool. Contact Ron
