HMS Ganges 1963, 56 Recruitment Hawke
47 mess, 222 and 223 classes: Six of us have just had
a small but successful reunion, and are looking for others of
the two

HMS Ganges, Hawke Division, 49 Mess, 1958: Calling all mess mates from
146 and 95 mess. A few of us are meeting up at the Ganges reunion in 2007 for

Anthony (Tony) Goddard: Angela
is searching for her half-brother Anthony who she believes was
in the RN during
the 60s and 70s. He was born 1945/46 and spent his childhood in
Newbury, Berkshire. They were parted when very young, but she would

HMS Grafton: James Duller served
in the RN 1999/01. Unfortunately he is unable to track his old
shipmates down as he
has no phone numbers or addresses. Looking for people who joined
March 1, 1999, Cunningham 07 class, also fellow shipmates i served
with on board HMS Grafton. Some of these names are; om(c) D Card,
om(c) Brown, om(c) Lement, POmea Miller, om(aw) Belfield, om(aw)

HMS Glory: Trying desperately to find a photograph
of Albert (Bertie) Waters, either with the ships company or an
individual one of him. He joined the Royal Navy in 1949. Albert
was a leading cook serving on HMS Glory in 1953 in Malta. Albert
drowned off St Pauls Bay in Malta on 17th November 1953. His family

Clarrie (Jim) Gibson is seeking Alec Churchill, NSTO, HMS
Terror 1956. Jim has some photos of you and a childrens party held
in CPOs mess, your daughter is possibly amongst them. He is is

the reunion in August at Harrogate. Jim is already in touch with

of Walter Ridett. He was at HMS Ganges as a boy sailor some time
in the 1930s, and later was at the 2nd Battle of Narvik and the
Bismarck hunt (possibly in HMS Foxhound). Later in the war he served
in one of the Steam Gun Boats in the Channel. Also seeking Arthur
Wells of Guiseborough, Cleveland, as he may have been a shipmate

HMS Grove: Robert Palmers uncle, Douglas James Holdaway, was killed in action
whilst serving on HMS Grove, sunk by a german U-Boat on June 12th 1942. Douglas’ brother
David is still living and in his eighties and would dearly like to contact any
living survivor of this tragic incident so as to understand what happened on
that day in 1942. Douglas was an ordinary seaman aged 21 years and came from

Bridge HMS Ganges: Seeking ex RN CGI Derek Broadhurst,
last seen in Havant, then retired, in January 1971. He and Alan Starkey
went to join the RN in 1947 - Derek got in as a Boy at HMS Ganges,
nr Ipswich., Alan only got in January 1948 as Junior Stoker. They
met only once during service in the Cape, Simonstown, in 1952, Derek
was serving on HMS Neiride, corvette, Alan aboard the cruiser
HMS Bermuda. Derek acted as Alan’s bestman in Aug 54. Derek
was a good mate from school days through to our visit from Australia
in Dec/Jan 70-71. Not heard a whisper from him since and would like

members of 135/136 classes, who joined Ganges on 15th March 1955,
and who then went on to reside in Benbow 31 Mess for the duration.

Cornforth, Brian Whelan, Terence E Sweeney, Hugh O’Reilly,

the classes met at the 2005 Ganges Reunion, which was quite nostalgic,

HMS Glasgow and Agincourt: John W. Tyson is trying to contact
old shipmate, Ivor Parry, his offsider was a chap called Price. Contact John
HMS Ganges: Seeking Alfred Barnes last contacted
in 1978. He and Ian Daniels both joined Ganges in September 71 and
joined their first ship HMS Achilles together. Barney, as he was
known was best man for Ian in April 76 and kept in touch for a couple
of years but then no more. He was an Able Seaman (TAS) and the last
ship he was on was HMS Definace which was alongside at Devonport
being used as a stores and planned for scrapping. He used to live
with his parents in Carlisle but moved some 12 years ago and the
