HMS Mahratta: Jack Humble was serving in Mahratta when she was torpedoed in February 1944. He is seeking information about former shipmates from that time. HMS Mauritius, Vacoas: Calling all ex-members, the present occupiers of the old Naval Base, the Special Mobile Force (SMF). The Commanding Officer and staff would like to invite you to their Celebrations of SMF which are held yearly around June/July. Malta: Does anyone remember a family by the name of Bartlett living in Malta in the 1920's. Frederick Arthur Bartlett served in the Navy in Malta but as what is a mystery. He was married to Annie Glady's and they had one son called Leonard Frederick Bartlett born on the 27th July 1925 at the base. HMS Mercury: Trying to trace the Wrens who trained as Radio Op with Thelma (Beardsley) at HMS Mercury in 1962/63. She doesn’t remember where any of them went to after training. Their names are Sarah Cox, Linda Edmonds, Shelagh Purley, Christine James, Christine Edgington, Faith Hulse, Sue Beaney and also PO Wren Frost. Contact Mrs Thelma Rue

MTB’s: Taff was in the RN from 1949 until 1955 in the electrical side of things, graduating from HMS Collingwood. He ended his service in Malta attached to HMS Forth based in Msida creek between Valletta and Sliema. He was on MTB’s which were converted to run under radio control for target practice. The boats were RCB 8204 and RCB 8205. Like to hear from anyone who was involved on these boats around this time. Taff was the LEM in charge of the electrics on these boats. His great friend was the REA in charge of the radio side who was called Ted Marsh, but unfortunately after Taff left the service in 1955 contact was lost. Any info regarding these boats and the people involved would be welcome. Contact Taff Evans

Malta GC: During the International Air Show in September 2005, it is hoped to link up RAF, Allied and FAA Aircrew, Groundcrew and support staff who served on the 'Fortress Island' during WWII with veterans from the Maltese Air Defence regiments in a week of Commemoration and Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of VE and the end of WWII. Reg Mortimer - I am hoping some of you will remember my dad. Dad joined the Communications branch as a boy seaman in 1952/53 and left as a Fleet Chief Warrant Officer in 1982, after the Falklands. He transferred to the Electronic Warfare Sub Branch sometime during the 1960's. His last few years in the Navy were spent at Northwood. I am arranging his retirement party in May 2003 and I am hoping to surprise him by inviting some of his old friends that he hasn't seen for years. Please contact his daughter Stephanie

Andrew "Jif" Lemmon is trying to find the whereabouts of an old friend called Danny Carroll. They served together on HMS Manchester when it was first commissioned. Danny was best man at his wedding and was last known to be on HMS Brave, back in the 90's. I am writing on behalf of seaman Cecil John Hughes, also known as spike, who is looking for any information on old shipmates who served with him on Motor torpedo boats 70 + 236 between 1941-42. Seeking Sig. Brian Salter. National Service 1955 training at HMS Mercury and HMS Ocean during Suez Crisis. Home town Crewkerne, Somerset, last heard of living in Bristol after demob as Landlord of Pub in Fishponds and subsequently working for Hales Cakes as Rep. Old shipmate Sig. Richard Wooller, HMS Ocean and HMS Undaunted and still living in Eastbourne would like to make contact to arrange meeting to catch up on old times in Gib. & Pompey.

Walter Bateman served with 30 Mobile Field Hospital in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He remembers being taken from Palermo by RN LST to Salerno and that the press and crew took photographs. If anyone has photos or remembers Wally can they contact him
