HMS Punjabi: Sixty-four years ago on May 1, the
Tribal Class destroyer Punjabi was rammed and sunk by the battleship
King George V while units of the Fleet were covering convoy PQ15
to Russia. By some miracle, since the encounter took place in Arctic
waters, some 201 members of the crew of 250 were picked up. By
my reckoning, every one of those survivors is well into his 80's
- I will be 85 in June. If any of them read the Navy News I would

HMS Pembroke: Henry (Harry) Fynn was in the
Fleet Air Arm during the war. Some of the ships he served in
were, Pembroke, Phoebe,
Formidable, Monster, Hopetown, Warren and Nile, all from 1941
to 1946. If anyone knew him, his family would like to hear from
you.

Peter: Kelly-Anne was born in
St Mary’s
Hospital, Portsmouth in November 1973. Her mother, Helen Shepherd
worked in a hotel in Southsea. Her dad (Peter) was a sailor who
shared a flat with friends in St Andrews Road, Southsea. Kelly-Anne
would love to know who her father was, how he is and if she has
any other family. Kelly-Anne’s adoptive father and mother

HMS Poole: John Cook was on the Poole for four
years as a telegraphist, 1941 - 1945, before that on the Penelope
and the Rockingham. Was mentioned in Despatches in August 1942.
His son Mel would like to hear from anyone with memories or information

HMS Plover 1955/56: Arnold
Brookes (Horace) Stokers grot. looking for Ray Scarbrow,
George Raleigh, Ian Lang, Fred Handy and Jim (Scouse) Gallagher.
Pellow 22 Class - May 1989: Richard Wright joined
the Navy on May 29 1989 as an Air Engineering Mechanic. He then went
on to work at RNAS Yeovilton and served onboard HMS Invincible from
Jan 91 to Dec 92. He left the Navy back in October 1994 and has lost
all contact with people that he worked with. Now living in California
and would very much like to get in contact with old ship mates. Contact Richard

HMS Perseus: Jack Smart (Frome and Northampton)
is seeking anyone who served on HMS Perseus during the 40s - he
remembers Vic Britain from Wallasey and Roger ?? from Withernsea
- tour included Gibraltar, Malta, Aden / Colombo, Freemantle and
subsequently stationed at Bankstown Air Station. Contact his daughter, Yvonne

CPOMEA Phil Pryor and LWWTR Sarah Pryor (formerly
Appleby, nee Foster) are leaving the Navy together, after nearly
fifty years combined service, on 28th November 2005. Anyone who
has ever served with either of these damned ratings is invited
to a bash; time and place TBC, but probably Devonport area
in November.

PT Q22: Having left the RN in 1990 Kelvin thinks
it’s about time he tried to contact some old shipmates. He
would ideally love to hear from any of the PT qualifying course,
PTQ22 who passed out in 1987 or anyone who was on the Navy Display
Team in its last 2 years 1984/85. These were tremendous years that
he will never forget and if anyone was having a reunion or thinking

service and is having his RPC at the Army v Navy Rugby match on 1st
May and his wife, Emma is looking for anybody that has known him

David Petherwick: Bob and Rae Brown are seeking information
on an old friend. They know he was in the navy as far back as 1980
but do not know if he still is. David was based in Portsmouth and
was an "Artificer". He was married to Pam and his parents lived in

HMS Puckeridge: Bernard Norman James Fish would like to hear
news of any shipmates from HMS Puckeridge, December 1941 after action
in the Irish Sea and then towed to Pembroke Dock. He believes one
name to be Alex Blythe who was awarded teh DSM for his part in the

HMS Phoebe 1988: Geoff Cannon is seeking ex-POWEM(O) Brian
(dinger) Bell, who served with him aboard the Leander class Frigate.
Brian has since retired and may have gone back to his native Scotland.
