RN Shipmates had a Stand at The International
Festival of the Sea 2005, representing many HMShips Associations,
Royal Naval Association Branches and Clubs. A phenomenal success,
we were able to direct many shipmates, who thought they had ‘swallowed
the anchor’, to their Ship’s Associations with the
intention of finding those they served with. However, many ex Matelots
came onto the Stand, read the lists we had and asked, “Why
isn’t our Ship’s Association listed?” The simple
answer is “We are not aware of it”. So secretaries,
please confirm we have your Association listed, it will cost you
nothing to get on the list, but you will receive details of our
stand at the next International Festival of the Sea in 2007. Yes
we will be there. Will you? Contact Mike
